As part of UR-WISE activities aimed at strengthening research excellence and fostering international collaboration, Professor Aura Reggiani ERA Chair and Alma Mater Professor of Economic Policy at the University of Bologna, conducted a research and networking visit to Clare Hall, University of Cambridge, from 27 October to 1 November 2025.
During her visit, Professor Reggiani met with leading members of the Clare Hall community, including Professor Alan Short (President of Clare Hall), Professor David Ibbetson (Past President), Dr. Francé Davies (Director of Development), and Professors Li Tang and Kevin Edwards, organisers of the Clare Hall Colloquia. Discussions focused on the potential organisation of a joint workshop at Clare Hall and on expanding cooperation within the UR-WISE network of research-intensive institutions.
Professor Reggiani also held exchanges with Professor Michael Ellman, a distinguished expert on transition economics, and learned about postdoctoral researchers from Serbia currently based at Clare Hall, identifying new opportunities for research mobility and collaboration.
The visit represents an important step in advancing the UR-WISE mission to establish long-term partnerships with Europe’s leading academic institutions. It also supports the project’s vision of creating, in the coming years, the research institute at the University of Niš, building on cooperation with international institutes such as Clare Hall.
