Students Take the Stage

Students Take the Stage: the student organisations of the University of Niš at the 10th Forum of Advanced Technologies

Niš, 16 September 2026

The 10th Forum of Advanced Technologies was held at the Science and Technology Park Niš on 16 and 17 September 2026, under the theme “TechIntelligence: Transforming Industry for the Intelligent Age.” On the first day, the Talent & Career Arena closed with “Students Take the Stage: Find Your Community, Create Your Opportunity”, a session given over to the student organisations of the University of Niš.

The Forum spent two days on what advanced technologies are doing to industry. This session asked about the other end of the same labour market, among the people who are about to enter it, and it was theirs to run: three faculties of the University of Niš and three international networks.

The session

The session was moderated by Pavle Marjanović, Head of the Students Science & Research Center at the Faculty of Economics, University of Niš. Speaking: Iva Veličković, President of the Student Association NOVA at the Faculty of Economics, University of Niš; Lenka Obradović, President of ELSA Niš at the Faculty of Law, University of Niš; Nemanja Stojanović, President of ESTIEM LG Niš at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Niš; Aleksandar Stojanović, Vice President of Finance & Legality at AIESEC; and Aleksandar Manasijević, Teaching Associate at the Faculty of Economics, University of Niš and President of the Serbian Association of Young Economists.

Three faculties and three networks

The six participants brought together three faculties of the University of Niš - Economics, Law and Mechanical Engineering, and three organisations: ELSA - the European Law Students' Association; ESTIEM - a non-profit organisation for students who combine technological understanding with management skills, organised in local groups, of which Niš is one; AIESEC - a community of young people, by youth and for youth. The Student Association NOVA and the Students Science & Research Center belong to the Faculty of Economics itself, and the Serbian Association of Young Economists is national.

A student in Niš looking for a professional community does not have one door to knock on, and this session put the people behind several of those doors in the same room, in front of an audience of their peers.

The Faculty of Economics, University of Niš is the host and sole beneficiary of UR-WISE, and three of the six people on this panel come from it, the moderator among them. Whether a region keeps the people it educates depends on whether there is a community and an opportunity for them where they studied, which is the sentence this session took its name from.

The full programme of both days is published on the Forum's own site.

UR-WISE will continue to report the work of its host faculty's community, and to bring research on resilient urban and regional futures into the places where policy, industry and the next generation of professionals meet.
