The 10th Forum of Advanced Technologies is held at the Science and Technology Park Niš on 16 and 17 September 2026, under the theme “TechIntelligence: Transforming Industry for the Intelligent Age.” On the second day, prof. dr Jelena Stanković of the Faculty of Economics, University of Niš (FEUN), the sole beneficiary and host institution of UR-WISE, moderates the panel “Labour Intelligence: Transforming Industry for the Intelligent Age” on the Main Stage, from 14:00 to 14:50.
Artificial intelligence is transforming industry. The question the panel puts on the table is what that means for the people behind it. In the organisers' own words, the session brings together experts from business, technology and institutions to explore how jobs, skills and workforce strategies are changing, and how employers, institutions and talent can prepare for what comes next.
Alongside the moderator, four speakers take part: Marko Jovanović, founder and director of Marteco Digital Services; Jelena Milošević, Technology Partner Specialist at IBM; Jelena Preradović Stevanović, Manager for Sustainability and Stakeholder Engagement for South-East Europe at Philip Morris International; and Marija Suzić, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Advisor, NALED.
The Forum is organised by the Science and Technology Park Niš and reaches its tenth, anniversary edition this year. It runs across three programme stages over two days, with keynote lectures, strategic panels, practical sessions, technology demonstrations, B2B meetings and a networking programme. The organisers expect more than 1,200 participants from over 200 companies, and publish a programme of more than 170 speakers and panellists.
The Faculty of Economics, University of Niš is among the Forum's partners, alongside the City of Niš, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the National Employment Service, the NiCAT cluster, NALED, the Serbian Association of Economists and others. The full agenda of both days is published on the Forum's own site, and participation requires registration through fnt.rs.
Labour is where the intelligent age stops being an abstraction. Which jobs change, which skills hold their value, where the work goes and who is left carrying the cost of the transition are regional questions before they are national ones, and they are close to the ground UR-WISE works on: urban and regional development, demographic trends and migration, data-driven policy making, and regional economic integration and innovation.
Taking the moderator's chair at a forum of this size also serves the project's structural aims. UR-WISE is building a research group at FEUN around ERA Chair holder Professor Aura Reggiani, and part of that work is putting the Faculty in the rooms where industry, institutions and researchers in the region actually meet. The Forum brings that audience to Niš, which is where the project is based.
More about the Forum on its official website and in the full agenda of both days.
UR-WISE will continue to bring its research on resilient urban and regional futures into the places where policy and industry meet.
